High-strength and excellent-looking variety
Kikuyu is a warm season grass that is hardy, self repairing and drought tolerant. It has a soft, bright green leaf and when mowed regularly makes a beautiful lawn that requires minimal lawn care to remain healthy.
Kikuyu seed is quick to propagate and grows rapidly. Kikuyu has always been the number one choice for any lawn areas which are expected to be under high traffic conditions, including trampling by cattle and vehicles, as this grass repairs itself quicker than almost any other grass.

When to plant our grass seed mats ⇄ Biodegradable grass seed blanket
Best results are obtained when seeding in the early spring or fall, when daily temperatures range between 15˚C and 26˚C, as these conditions are ideal for seedling growth.
Spring Planting: Plant in early spring when temperatures are between 12˚C and 26˚C. This allows time for the seed to grow and establish before facing the hot, dry conditions of summer.
Fall Planting: Plant in the late summer or early fall when daily temperatures are consistently between 18˚C and 26˚C. Fall is a great time for planting because the warm days and cool nights promote growth.
Care: Look out for weeds and diseases.
Irrigation: Necessary, Water is an essential part of the germination process for your grass seeds. Without it, the process will slow down significantly, and in the worst cases, it may stop completely.
Germination: 2 to 4 weeks in ideal conditions.
First Cut: At 8/10cm may be ready to be mowed within 2 to 4 weeks of planting.
First Use: Limited after 3-4 weeks. Everything depends upon weather, time of year and how well the ground was prepared. Only when the roots have penetrated the soil below and established is the ‘new’ lawn ready for action.
Once you have mowed the lawn 3 to 5 times, it is ready for foot traffic. Bear in mind that you should also keep pets away from newly planted grass as the seeds are delicate and fragile.

Changes to mixtures
Occasionally, shortages of some varieties may occur throughout the season. We therefore reserve the right to replace varieties not available with a suitable alternative. Any alteration to the mixture will be clearly shown on the bag label.
The varieties are internationally tested by independent institutes – also in the Scandinavian countries.
